Operational Reporting System Launch
Forestasia recently completed the implementation of an operational reporting solution for a large client. The project was very challenging given the dubious architecture and constantly changing database schema of the operational system from which the data was being sourced, but the client was happy with the final product which is the main thing.
Operational Reporting System Launch
We are happy to report that a major enhancement to a client's existing enterprise data warehouse went live today. The enhancement saw the addition of insurance claim information to the existing content which provided the client the ability to calculate profitability and a variety of other key operational effectiveness metrics, greatly enhancing the value to the organisation of the warehouse.
Temporal data warehouse
For the last couple of months we have been converting a traditional "truncate and load" approach data warehouse capable of showing history from today's perspective only into a true temporal system capable of reproducing history and reporting outputs as they appeared at any given point in time. This is an important compliance requirement for the client, and one that has been challenging to retrofit to an existing production system with an active user base without disrupting existing functionality or reporting outputs. The new functionality went live today.
Data Warehouse launch
The end of April marked the successful release of an enterprise data warehouse into production that Forestasia has been working on for one of our large clients. The initial release delivered an enterprise warehouse architecture, infrastructure, data model, and the first segment of accurate and reconciled reporting data over the course of what was a very aggressive three month project schedule.
Project Audit
Occasionally some of our clients elect to verify the quality of the technical solutions we are providing via an independent technical audit.
This week Forestasia received a favourable report from a technical audit of a data warehouse system we are implementing for a client.
Some highlights from the report include:
"The solution is well architected from an application design perspective."
"... technology stack with all the key components expected of a sophisticated BI solution."
"... has built quite strong data quality principles which will benefit in improving the quality of data in the source systems/ business processes longer term."
"... the design is elegant from an application development perspective."
The audit report was well received by the client, and provided the project team with some well deserved praise from an independent technical expert.
ClaimCenter migration lecture
Recently Forestasia completed a highly successful claims system data migration, with zero migration related defects being raised during the 3 month post "go live" warranty period. As a result of this work we have been invited to present our migration approach to another leading insurer who is about to undertake a migration to Guidewire ClaimCenter.
Topics will include:
- Our approach to end-to-end data mapping
- Metadata driven repeatable code generation
- Conducting a large scale data migration within an Agile project
- Comprehensive and repeatable field level data reconciliation
Website upgrade completed
The Christmas break presented us with a great opportunity to give the Forestasia website a bit of an upgrade. We've made some behind the scenes improvements to the structure and accessibility of the content, plus had some styling fun updating the look and feel.
The new design renders well in the current versions of the browers most widely used by our audience. It is also W3C standards compliant as far as practicable. We've made the extra effort to ensure it also looks presentable using Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7 too, which at the time the new design went live still accounted for about 40% of the site's traffic between them.

This weekend saw the successful completion of 9 month data migration and consolidation project, resulting in the consolidation of three disparate processing systems into a single new global implementation of Guidewire ClaimCenter and ContactCenter.
The project was delivered on time and on budget for one of our insurance clients. Congratulations to the client and a well deserved thank you to all the team who contributed to the project.
Consulting engagement extended
Today Forestasia was pleased to agree to a 15 month extension to one of our longer term consulting engagements.
ETL Framework commissioned
Forestasia has been commissioned to design and oversee the development of a metadata driven code generation and data quality management tool suite. The goal of the project is to enable the automation of much of the Extract, Transform and Load code development that will carried out in future phases of a data warehouse implementation.
Data Cleansing project completes
A three month data cleansing and deduplication project was successfully completed for one of our clients today. Forestasia was appointed to analyse the process flows that were producing the low quality data then develop process improvements to solve the root causes of the problem, as well as correct and cleanse the current poor quality data.
